México en Diciembre (Mexico in December)

The city of Xalapa is located in eastern-central Mexico (in the state of Veracruz), approximately 90 km northwest of Veracruz and roughly 350 kilometres from Mexico City. Xalapa is located beneath the volcanic peaks of the Sierra Madre Oriental, at an elevation of 1400 metres to 1700 metres above sea level, and is surrounded in lush tropical vegetation.

Though beautiful, this is not what we usually see as typcial photos from Mexico. It's not a "toursit destination" per se, being several hours from an international airport. There were no white sandy beaches or big American hotels here either... it is a place where you can truly experience the way of life in the state of Veracruz.
